Austin Citywide MLK Celebration
My approach to designing the concept and graphics for Austin’s annual MLK celebration stems from a deep commitment to reflecting my lived experiences in Austin, Texas. Growing up in the city during the nineties, I witnessed its transformation, a journey marked by diverse and evolving experiences for my family and me. These personal insights shape how I visually interpret Austin’s connection to MLK’s enduring legacy.
Each year, I delve deeper into MLK’s leadership, words, and vision by studying his photos, speeches, and writings. His ability to balance hope with the realities of his time inspires me to create designs that honor both the progress we’ve made and the challenges that remain. Through my work, I strive to convey a message of collective hope while grounding it in the truths we face, offering a perspective that resonates with our communities and future generations in their pursuit of freedom and equality.
Crocheted Creatures
I truly take pride in helping companies reach their user goals, but creating abounds beyond my profession. I have taken up creating amigurumi, crocheted stuffed animals, to explore the boundaries of my imagination. All aspects of life are designed, and I am thankful that I get to live what I love each day.

Logos and iconography
My expertise in logo and word mark creation has earned me honors in over 10 international publications. I enjoy the little things that communicate. In logo and icon design, my delight comes from putting together a balanced design that promotes simplicity in concepts and communicates intrinsic value for a newly formed concept. The ability to do this well has garnered me a number of design opportunities and prepared me for larger scale design projects with more complex visual and user problems to solve.
